Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (491)

This is a 5 year temporary visa that can transition to permanent residency. To apply you must have:

  • An Australian skills assessment

  • Be younger than 45 years of age

  • Meet English language requirements

  • Have a minimum of 65 points

  • A state or territory to sponsor you

  • Have an occupation on the relevant skilled list

Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (494)

This is a 5 year temporary employer sponsored visa that can transition to permanent residency. Your employer must be located in a designated regional area of Australia.

Employer Sponsored Stream – Your occupation must be on the relevant skilled occupation list

To apply you must have:

  • An Australian skills assessment
  • Be younger than 45 years of age
  • Meet English language requirements
  • 3 years’ full time work experience in your occupation at the skill level required
  • A regional employer to sponsor you

Labour Agreement Stream – This is for regional employers who have access to a Company, Industry or Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA).

To apply you must meet the age, skill requirements and English level prescribed in the relevant labour agreement. A skills assessment is usually required.

After working in your occupation for 3 years you may be able to transition to the permanent subclass 191 visa. Your employer is not required to nominate you.

Skills in Demand Visa (482)

This is a temporary employer-sponsored visa that allows skilled workers to work for an approved employer for up to 4 years.

There are three streams:

Core Skills – Your occupation must be on the relevant skilled occupation list and earn over $73 150.

Specialist Skills Stream – This is for highly skilled workers earning more than $135,000. Your occupation must be listed in ANZSCO Major Groups 1,2,4, 5 or 6. Trade occupations are excluded from this stream.

Labour Agreement Stream – Your employer must have access to a Company, Industry or Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA).

To apply for this visa, you must:

  • Be nominated by an approved employer.
  • Meet the skill requirements for your occupation.
  • Meet English language requirements.

After working in your occupation for 2 years your sponsor may be able to nominate you for permanent residency through the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186).

Skilled Independent visa (189)

This is a permanent visa. To apply you must have:

  • An Australian skills assessment

  • Be younger than 45 years of age

  • Meet English language requirements

  • Have a minimum of 65 points

  • Have an occupation on the relevant skilled list

Skilled Nominated Visa (190)

This is a permanent visa. To apply you must have:

  • An Australian skills assessment

  • Be younger than 45 years of age

  • Meet English language requirements

  • Have a minimum of 65 points

  • A state or territory to sponsor you

  • Have an occupation on the relevant skilled list

Training (Internship) visa (407)

This is a temporary visa that is usually granted for 1 year. It allows young graduates to complete on the job training to enhance their skills.

To apply for this visa you must :

  • Be nominated by an approved employer

  • Be a junior baker, cook, chef or pastry cook with 12 months’ relevant study or work experience within the 24 months immediately before your nominate is lodged

  • Meet English language requirements

  • Have an occupation on the relevant skilled list

    Employer Nominated Sponsorship (186)

    This a permanent employer sponsored visa which has two streams.

    Direct Entry Stream: Employers with a genuine skilled vacancy can sponsor an individual to work for them under the subclass 186 visa. This stream is available to workers both in and outside of Australia.

    Temporary Residence Transition Stream: Employers can sponsor workers holding a subclass 482 visa who have held and worked on the subclass 482 visa for a minimum of 2 years for the subclass 186 visa.

    Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) Visa (191)

    This visa allows individuals who have held a subclass 494 visa for 3 years and complied with the conditions of that visa.to apply for permanent residency. You do not need an employer to nominate you.

    Graduate visa (485)

    This visa is for international students who have recently graduated from an Australian institution.

    If you have  recently graduated from a commercial cookery, patisserie or retail bakery course we may be able to assist with finding a suitable job in regional Australia enabling you to complete the Job Ready Program and then transition to the subclass 190 or 491 visa.
